Intermediate
Third Grade Bookworm has a resource for grades 3-5 titled Exploring Theme and Lesson with Picture Books. It is a great way to help students understand theme.
Secondary
Kim Hartikainen, of Teaching by Hart, has an activity titled: Square Roots Concentration that can be used at the middle school level. It's a great game to play to reinforce square roots!

ReplyDeleteWhen students move forward they will be told that theme is a universal truth about life implied by a work of literature. To present a theme requires more than a word or two. If they learn the above now, confusion will follow.
